I am not a trained chef, but have run 2 restaurants in Goa. The first restaurant, ‘Skie Grille’, was ranked as the best new restaurant in South Goa, by Lonely Planet. The menu was unique as was the location. Every entrée, be it a starter, salad or dessert, was made on the grill. The al fresco restaurant was designed in a courtyard that stood before a 100-year-old palatial home. Postcard pretty. The second restaurant, ‘100 Pillows’, was well, like the name suggests cozy and easy. We served soul food, burgers, sandwiches, smoothies, fries and other goodies that brought with it the warm, fussy feeling.
Today, I’ve come back to the urban jungle, working as the editor of a weekly children’s newspaper called RobinAge. Cooking exotic delicacies has been sidelined to weekends and for friends and loved ones. But the need to spread the joy of good food and everything foody hasn’t ebbed. In fact it has evolved into this blog, that has had a seriously long gestation period. J The blog is ever changing, evolving and full of experiments with flavours, textures and moods.
The food I cook is simple, easy and at most times healthy and has loads of sugarfree/ diabetic options. I appreciate your part in this journey and am honoured to share my love for food with you.
