Breakfast of Champions! That’s what I would like to call this breakfast in a glass. It’s full of fibre and anti-oxidants and comes packed with nutrition too. You know, introducing smoothies to my morning regimen has really simplified my life and saved close to 30 minutes in my crazy schedule.
What’s more Chia seeds the new healthy edible tonic to consume, its high in Fibre, Calcium, Manganese, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Vitamins, Zinc and Protein! In india, people have used a seed from the same family for many, many years, its called ‘Sabja’ and is a must in falooda. But more about that in a forth-coming post. For now, lets stick to more nutrition from these small black seeds…Chai seeds

So the smoothie, is nothing but a meal in a glass. And what’s more is its filling and if made the right way is a shot of protein without any fats. On regular days, we use a banana, oats, yoghurt, chia seeds, and almonds, but this particular morning was different.
Buying fresh blueberries in India can be a costly affair, but I got lucky, a friendly neighbourhood store was selling them a little cheaper, and I picked up just enough to last four meals. 🙂
Ingredients:
- 10-12Â fresh blueberries
- 1/2 of a small banana
- 2 tablespoons of oats
- 2 tablespoons home made fat-free yoghurt
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 5-6 almonds
- 2 packets of sugar-free
- 1/2 cup of ice-cold water
Method:
1. Add everything to the mixer and blitz it, till it’s all completely smooth.
2. Pour into a mug/ glass. garnish with chopped almonds, blueberries and chia seeds. Don’t be surprised by the colour–it’s a deep purple. 🙂
